BAHASA ROJAK

(This is a post in Bahasa Melayu, since I learn this course for this semester)

Namun, walau bagaimana sekalipun bahasa ni, bahasa Melayu tetap bahasa ibunda kita. Sesungguhnya, bahasa jiwa bangsa. Tanpanya, maka lenyaplah bangsa Melayu. Walau betapa majunya kita, asal-usul kita jangan dilupa. Bersama memartabatkan bahasa ibunda kita.

Money...Moneyyy

In just 5 days of staying in the campus, i've spent more than rm200..WHAT??!!?this is so critical.with me, having no scholarship, such thing is so HAZARDOUS to me...huhu..yalahh,what i'm going to eat in the next few weeks if i cannot limit my money spending habit..but still, i'm pretty much better than those who spend lots of money for clothes n other accessory.i spend mostly on food.clever huh?hahaha..but maybe it is just for this week since i have lots of nothing-to-do time due to cancelation of lectures.

New Semester..

1st few days of the new semester were totally exhausted n confusing.schedule kept on changing.difficulties to register courses.plus i have to settle all the documents needed for my scholarship application.just now i got a new schedule.kak ct said that it is the finalized one.hopefully it is...

early this morning, few of my batchmates called me telling n asking about our courses schedule..thought that i could wake up a bit late today, but since everyone was so worry about the schedule,i forced myself to check the schedule at the department by myself.actually,i also have few things to be settled also at the office.Alhmdulillah,i came to the department at the rite time as new schedule has already be pasted on the board n like usual, few corrections need to be made on the schedule.luckily i was not alone.etty n sarah were also there..so,i was not so confused by the schedule.huhu...i have calculus lecture this evening...looking forward for something good in the lecture..

XML...

XML of Extension Markup Language is a complement of HTML (HyperText Markup Language). It is not a replacement for HTML. HTML was designed to display data or I can say that all that it concerns is how the data will look like. While, all the things that XML concerns about is what is the data that it transports or stores. All I can say about XML is that it is not as comlicated and "cerewet" like HTML. XML can be handled by any software that handles plain text. Besides, all the tags in XML document are invented by the author himself. Its up to the author to used what word or language. But still, he has to observed some rules like: the nesting, quotation, case sensitivity and bear in mind that in XML ALL ELEMENTS NEED TO HAVE END TAGS....

One of the softwares that can be used to plot graphs of a given data is Microsoft Excel. It is so easy to be used and various types of graph to be picked.

ChemSketch...another advantage of applying technology in Organic Chemistry

Drawing energy of reaction diagram:

p, d and pi-type Orbitals

Vacuum Distillation Apparatus

Two-chain DNA strand

Lipid and micelles

Can you draw all the above by merely using Microsoft Office Word?Probably can, but it would be very difficult. That is why this so-advanced software was invented. You can draw smooth graph line, the DNA, and any other graphical objects by using ACD/ChemSketch software. This software can do a lot of other things like generating SMILES notations, and drawing, labelling and mapping reactions. However, I just learn to use it to draw above objects and to generate SMILES notations.

PDB??? ?__?

Another new thing that I learnt in my Computers in Science lecture today..PDB...it sounds nearly like PBB.huhu..well,actually PDB stands for Protein Data Bank.

And then, what is Protein Data Bank itself?

>It is like a storage area where 3-D structural data of large biological molecules. All I can think of after reading this statement is protein. But data of other large molecules like nucleic acids also is stored here. There are several methods of obtaining the data:

  • X-ray crystallography
  • NMR spectroscopy
  • Electron microscopy

Of course for each storage area there will be a supervisor and the one that oversee PDB is the Worldwide Protein Data Bank(wwPDB).

Currently, there are all together 3 file formats that can be used to download the structure files. They are PDB file format, "macromolecular Crystallographic Information file" format(mmCIF) and also PDBML format.

This is a link to go to the homepage of RCSB PDB (Resource for Studying Biological Macromolecules):
http://www.pdb.org/pdb/home/home.do

This one is to go to the search page of RCSB PDB where you can search for the structures of your desired molecules: http://www.pdb.org/pdb/static.do?p=search/index.html

And this one is to link you to Worldwide PDB website: http://www.wwpdb.org/

At different angle of view

Above are different views of the structure of Bacillus subtilis Lon N-terminal domain (Scientific name: Bacillus subtilis).

Lon ATP-dependent proteases act as the protein quality control systems of bacterial cells and eukaryotic organelles. In just a polypeptide chain, eubacterial Lon proteases contain an N-terminal domain, an ATPase domain, and a protease domain.

The above molecules are actually one similar molecule viewed in different ways and angles. The molecule is ATP-dependent protease La 1 which is classified as hydrolase with structure weight of 48027.40. It only has 1 polymer that is polypeptide (L).

SMILES.....KOS1110 tutorial

SMILES!!!

Don't misinterpret this word..SMILES that I meant is the short form of Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry Specification..It is a specification to describe chemical molecules using short ASCII strings. The strings can be imported by most molecule editors for conversion back into 2-D drawings or 3-D models of the molecules.

Complicated?Yes, it is.Especially for a very beginer like me..And the hardest part is to briefly describe it here in this post..huhuhu.....

V Below is a link that might be helpful for those who want to get to know more about SMILES:

Raya Gathering-Biotech 1st year

one of the artworks of Anna....

Alhamdulillah...the event was a success.thanks to all, both involved in the planning, arranging, handling n helping for the event, and those who came to make it more happening..for sure, everyone was so sporting n happy-hopefully..i didn't post about this aftr the event since i was so exhausted that i couldn't think of any sentence to be typed here.still felt it till ystrday's morning.but recovered now!

Few things on that night have really made me touched.i list out some of them here:
  • the environment n the way the site was decorated.-simple but so romantic, homey(like kampong2 style)...>>>credits to the brothers....
  • the attendance...-mostly came with such very nice dressings...those that i have never saw them with shawl, they did on that night..those with raya dress, etc..
  • the food....even though the caterer came quite late-as they were lost somewhere around KOP(Kuliyyah of Pharmacy)-but the food was so yummy enough that no one complaints about it, plus so in large amount that there was a lot of leftover after the event.
  • the SURPRISE??? >>>>credits to Diyanah, Nabilah n Hajar, n those involved in the planning...surely u guys have really made me surprised.thank u very much..guess, that was my 1st ever surprise party-maybe as far as i remember.wanna know what happened?well, i don't know the real plan that they have planned before n how the flow supposed to be, but this is what i thought n felt at that moment:

I was trying my best to finish my food(that was my third attempt as i have to stop eating few times to settle several things) when suddenly, lights from both rooms beside the site turned off.i thought that they must be turned off automatically just like the air-conditioners at A-1-15.n i saw one of the brothers, can't remember who, went to one of the room.i thought that maybe he wants to turn the lights in the room on.the only thing that i was thinking after that was to turn on the lights in the other room also.so i went to the room n saw hanis.hanis went into the room n turned back to the door n asked me to go out from that room.i asked her,"naper2,ada orang ke kat dalam bilik tu??"-haha,so negative idea that i have at that time.but she answered nothing n just ushered me back to the middle ..that's the time i saw yana n twins with the cakes..actually i didn't know how to react with such situation.so forgive me if i reacted unexpectedly or weirdly or wrongly..huhu..

To Anna: Thanks lots for being our photographer n for the sacrifices that you have done for the event.may Allah bless you...

To Sri: Also thanks, thanks, thanks for being the MC for the night.sorry for incomplete information that i have gave before.but all i can say is that you are a very good MC..

Flashback...

Suddenly, I feel that I miss the moments when I got involved with programmes and events of PERKIM CFSIIUM.yes....i miss them so much..the feel of excitement, joy, satisfaction....eventhought they are such very tiring moments and busy ones, but actually, when i think about it again, they might be one of the factors i succeed in my quizzes and exams while at the CFS.

Why?

Probably because when i got so many tasks, both from the events and my lectures, i tend to organize my time more efficiently..Compared to when i was so free, i tend to 'movieing' and go out for outing.

Now, who said we cannot pass our exams if we got involved in clubs and societies???no no no....they are wrong.we could..but of course, with the right intention also..but i cannot deny, saying that i have the right intention everytime i handled the programmes.i'm also a human like everyone else.we cannot run from the nature of us, doing something for impliments.Astaghfirullah...but, i try my best, till now, to renew my intention, bringing it back to the right track in everything i do.

In everything i do or plan, i stick to these principles basically:
  • If we help the religion of Allah (Islam), Allah will help us..InsyaAllah...
  • No matter how busy I am, I still have to spend time for Allah...

Hopefully, these principles could lead me to be successful in the near future and ahead..

Also, I miss my dear friends who have worked with me together in the PERKIM..Especially Anjang, Acik, Alang, Along, Angah..and the senior sisters like Kak Ira...

Give instead of receive...

Each time someone celebrates his birthday, he surely will get something from the people around him, e.g. presents, surprise party,wishes..It's all about receiving things on the birthday..This culture makes us think that birthday is merely about receiving things.Don't you get bored with such thinking?

What if, we twist it around sometimes..Instead of receiving, we give. This could make us feel more grateful to Allah (The Creator & Sustainer) because we are still alive till this day. Also because we are able to live like we are, for who we are and in the body we are in. We give to the people around of us as to thank them for being with us all this long, supporting us till now. Alhamdulillah....

But what to give??

Simply give them a treat or make some donations for the needy or be nice to everyone.

It's something different, that surely would make us feel something that is really nice, deep inside of our heart. Verily in Islam, those who are giving are better than those who are receiving. Such beautiful thing is also encouraged by Islam. How beautiful is that??Subhanallah....

This is what I have done on my 19th birthday eve and InsyaAllah, I would like to continue with it for my birthday and perhaps, the days afterward, if I still be given this chance to live on this Earth.Well, HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY, my DEAR ME!!!Its today....

A slice of chessecake is more than enough for me...

Organic Chemistry oh Organic Chemistry...

Tomorrow I will have my mid-semester exam-Organic Chemistry paper..last paper...But still, not really ready yet..done with my reading.but maybe i need a little more exercises-or lots???

Microbiology lab today?guess its the easiest one among others before.but i'm not sure about its report-cause haven't do it yet...hopefully its not so hard and time consuming to finish it since i have plenty more works to be done and things to be settled by these few weeks.Want me to list them out?
  1. Organic Chemistry lab report
  2. Microbiology lab report
  3. Principles of Management's assignment
  4. Raya Celebration for the batch
  5. Sculpturing Contest

Never and ever think that biotechnology students are not busy ya..Compared to Biomedical students, we are much more busier than they are-for now..Its so different from what we heard before entering this campus."Biomedic study is so hard, nearly something like what medic students learn...blah blah blah"..But things are totally different when we entered here.even my roomates(biomedic students) have time to go out for shopping, 'jalan-jalan', etc. almost every day...but us, huhu, dapat once a week pun ok dah....

ok..need to stop.have to prepare myself for my Organic Chemistry exam tomorrow...wish me all the best.... =)

MAPLE...

Maple..talking about MAPLE, I know of course and obviously most do not know what it is.I guess only those who study computers only know about it-well, maybe mathematicians also included since they use computers also. Amazingly, I learnt it in my study in Biotechnology programme. For sure, it will help me in doing analysis of data later on. Since I'll be doing researches in the future. Here are some examples of calculations that can be done by this software:

> 121+542;

663
> (-22341)*(832748)*(387281);7205139570198108
> simplify(8^(2/3));4
> surd((-27/64),3)^2;9/16
> evalf(Pi,5);3.1416
> ln(exp(3));3
Simple calculations....

> simplify(cos(x)^2+sin(x)^2);1
> factor(12*x^2+27*x*y-84*y^2);3(x+4y)(4x-7y)
A bit complex ones....

And a lot more harder and complicated and sofisticated calculations, equations, functions, limits, graphing (which has so many types: 3D, animated, usual one, etc.), integrations, differentiations, sequences, sets, lists, array and data conversions. That is why I do not put examples of the harder ones as they are so hard that I even do not know how to write them here..

Actually, I just learnt a very small part of MAPLE programming. Since my group has just a little knowledge in calculus, it is just enough for us to just know about the small part of it. That is what they said. Eventhough it is just few percents from the whole MAPLE programming content, but they are more than enough to amaze me on what this software can do.

I have my MAPLE programming assignment, asking me to do the programming to produce n-pointed stars. Well, of course the programming is so complicated and difficult.

I think that is enough for me now.Assalamualaikum....

Craving to bake!!

Just few days away from home, i already miss cooking and baking..Who won't if you have spent almost 4 months at home, cooking and baking.I'm still in learning process in that stuff and even my dishes are not good really-at least still can be eaten, but I miss the feeling of doing them, the smell of those doughs..Full with satisfaction.

Future in New Room?

It has been 10 days I'm here, Kuantan Campus of International Islamic University Malaysia.Orientation week (or so called as Taaruf Week here)was ok with plenty of briefings only.New room, spacious enough, gives enough privacy to me.It has 4 compartments but till today only 3 out of 4 are filled. One of us has just moved in yesterday(she requested for room changing).

I am not very close with both of them, they are kind of talkative and noisy ones.Very not mixed with me.Just only hope that they could respect my study time later on..They are the type who has boyfriend,a bit pampered i guess...hopefully i won't influenced by them in the future.

It is just the matter of roommates that keeps me dissatisfied. But i think as long as i have my privacy n peaceful time to study, then its ok.About my compartment, or should i just say subroom,i have stars and moon on the wall.love them..

Well, lets me introduce my kuliyyah(department). This is a view of Kuliyyah of Science at early morning..Notice the colour of the pic,its not due to haze, but mist ok...cool huh?

Starting Again..

Salam,

After such a long silence, i plan to start blogging again. This would b quite hard for me since i'm not a good writer..Well,since i've got very good WiFi signal here,i think i should make use of the "nikmat" to the fullest.hehe..

I'm a beginner in this stuff,so i don't expect this blog would be so attractive compared to others.but i have the intention to share things with people and this is the best mean to do so-i guess...
